The Schaubmar Mill in Pezinok

Cajlanská 255

Schaubmar´s Mill is part of the Slovak National Gallery. It is the only preserved stream mill with functional mill technology in Slovakia. There is an exposition of milling industry and a gallery of fine arts dedicated primarily to modern and contemporary art and design.

The mill is devoted not only to preserving our cultural heritage and to presentation of fine art. We also organise numerous accompanying events related to visual art, nature and environment, crafts, and food.

You can join in workshops, enjoy guided visits, concerts, markets, and other events for both specialist and wider public throughout the year.

Part of the Schaubmar´s Mill area is an orchard that we are gradually revitalising and planning to open to public. After a tour of the mill and the gallery, you are invited to check the offer of nice books on art and nature and various small products from our workshop. You can also stop by and enjoy coffee and cakes in our café…

Expositions and exhibitions

In Pieces. The Fragment and Torso in Visual Art In Pieces. The Fragment and Torso in Visual Art Schaubmarov Mlyn v Pezinku
Exhibition will last 31 days

What is a fragment, both in the context of history and of the present? How and what do we read into it? A fragment, part, segment, or torso depicts the body and a thing wounded, deformed, incomplete, imperfect, but also "beauty in disfigurement", the image of death, tragedy, revolution, eroticism, memento, and absence. Simultaneously it engages our imagination, inviting us to complete the missing part and to find meaning in an unknown whole.

The Mill Exhibit The Mill Exhibit Schaubmarov Mlyn v Pezinku
