Department of Marketing and Communication

The Department of the Marketing and Communication incorporates operative communication strategy planning as well as relation building with the professional and general public directly and through the media. The aim is to build the good reputation of the institution, to inform the general public, to invite them to events (exhibition projects, accompanying programmes, inter-genre events) and thus provide the widest possible audience with access to SNG activities.

Marketing and Programming Section evaluates and monitors promotional campaigns (outdoor, print, electronic) and PR campaigns. It ensures the promotion of SNG activities on the gallery website (www.sng.sk) utilises social networks and builds up on-line marketing. At the same time, it establishes partnership relationships with various cultural and business partners, as well as donors and sponsors in order to optimise the placement of SNG services in the market. Programme design comprises part of its activities with the aim to provide an interesting dramaturgy of events related to the exhibitions (curators’ lectures, explanations, discussions), to create a “cultural point” (space for partnership concerts, presentations, festivals, cultural events, etc.) as well as to organise social and cultural nights connected with the ceremonial opening of exhibitions (opening days of exhibitions).

The basis for activities of the educational section is the potential of the SNG collections and their mission in the field of education through art. It prepares and implements educational programs regarding permanent expositions and current SNG exhibitions for children, families with children, young people and all visitors.

The aim of the Department of Marketing and Communications is to increase attendance and monitor and evaluate the interest, satisfaction and requirements of the audience so that the gallery can ensure better comfort for visitors and raise the quality of its services.
