Petra Hanáková
She graduated from Visual Art Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at Comenius University and also has bachelor's degree from Film Studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She worked at the Institute of History of Art at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Art Studies at the Film and Television Faculty at the Academy of Performing Arts and the Institute of Arts and Research at the Academy of Performing Arts.
Since 2008, she has been working as the curator of the Collection of Other Media at the Slovak National Gallery. She specializes in museum theory, Slovak film and visual culture of the 20th and 21st century and curatorship (e.g. 60/90, Slovak Art for Free, Nybüvitt - in cooperation with A. Kusá, as well as many other project at the SNG).
She is a co-author of a book about Pedro Almodóvar, monograph about Paľo Bielik and Slovak Film Culture (Slovak Film Institute, 2010) and publications about history of artistic operations in the 1990s, Women-Institutions? (The Academy of Visual Arts/Slovart 2010). Her work is also published in ARS, SNG Yearbook, Profil, The Kinečko or Kino-Ikona.
