Exhibition Sew Long! charts Slovak fashion in the period 1945 – 1989.
The functioning of the fashion "machine" in terms of real socialism was carried out under the insistent dictates of totalitarian ideology – the exhibition follows the closely guarded roads and curves, the silent direction of fashion and its promotion, presentation and consumption.

The ambition of the exhibition is to cross the shallow shores of nostalgia and, at the same time, to tear down some stereotypes. It presents the domestic garment production – from the cooperative manufactures focused on the individualised, almost custom, fashion through the massive segment of ready-to-wear clothing to the studio work of designers fighting to speak from the early 1980s.
It looks for the designers and manufacturers still hidden in obscurity, reveals inventive home fashion media, but also fashion photography of the known and lesser-known Slovak artists. It will lead the visitor through the forgotten world of mobile shops, exhibition subculture of shops and fairs and light up the catwalk with a parade of working but also fashionable “modern” woman.
