Architectura delineata et sculpta
Architecture in Graphics of the 16th –18th Century

1. April 2011 — 29. May 2011
Esterházyho palác, 1st floor, Bratislava
Curator: Martin Čičo

This exhibition thematizes architecture as seen and depicted in its various positions, particularly the graphic medium, as well as in the drawing and painting of the 16th -18th centuries.

Approximately 160 works from the collections of Slovak museums and galleries present architecture from theoretical tractates (A. Pozzo) through period views of the constructions of the past and the present, up to works of the ideal, ephemeral and triumphant architecture of the Baroque period. Architecture is not only presented from the perspective of architects and stage designers, but also as a means of decoration and an object of depiction.
