The Kornel and Naďa Földvári Library is a project dedicated to Slovak writer, satirist, art and literary critic, book collector and translator, Kornel Földvári. Preparations started together with Peter Krištúfek, writer and director, who for a long time has searched for a method of preserving Földvári's large collection of books.
His interest in so called B genres - adventure literature, western and detective stories, wasn't just books and the library; it was also about collecting or, more precisely, a collecting obsession, and capturing the essence of his personality. We've approached the Földvári library functionally, but we also added another layer to make its content visual.
The decision to operate the Földvári library was followed by an educational goal, as well as to pay tribute to people who have inconspicuously but positively shaped our intellectual space throughout our lives. The library will serve as another social space of the gallery - hosting discussions, lectures and other chamber events, as well as a pleasant place of intellectual rest.
