Jindřich Štreit. Photography 1965–2005
Calendars for Jindra Štreit

20. September 2006 — 12. November 2006
Esterházyho palác, 2nd floor, Bratislava
Curator: Aurel Hrabušický, Tomáš Pospěch

The significance of Jindřich Štreit, the leading figure of Czech photography, has long reached beyond the national framework.

The artist's work can be found in numerous major collections of photography (Museum of Modern Art, New York, Art Institute of Chicago, Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris and others). His collection of photographs from North Moravia is considered to be the "most detailed pictorial study of countryside at the time of real socialism" (Tomáš Pospěch).
The twin exhibition presents a survey of Štreit's oeuvre in parallel with artistic interpretations of his photographs from wall calendars created by leading Czech and Slovak artists.

Cooperation: Czech Centre, FOTOFO Foundation
